Nice list....all Upper Midwest Champs with the exception of Watson.
Hamm is from the Heavyweight Factory so I don't really count him as a Minnesota fighter although he did fight the tournaments here last year. It will be interesting to see if he does again this year. Since I don't count him I would replace him on the list with Xavier Hayden.
VeShawn joined the army and said he was going to box while he was there. I doubt we will see him fighting locally this year.

Thanks for the info. What is the Heavyweight Factory and how did Hamm end up in MN?
I like Xavier Hayden too, he is a good fighter.
Is Brant in the World Series of Boxing again this year? Also, is he preparing for the USA Nationals in February for a chance at a spot to the London 2012 games? 178 is still open but he would have to beat Marcus Browne and then go to the America's qualifier.
Oh, that's too bad that Veshawn isn't in the state anymore, but good for him. I hope to see him do something at the national level someday.

I wrote the wrong gym name. The Heavyweight Factory is a similar gym in Florida. Hamm is actually from All-American Heavyweights. They are both similar in that they recruit former college athletes to try and build the next great American Heavyweight Champion. www.allamericanheavyweights.com Not sure how they got connected with Johnny Johnson but I'm guessing it was at the Ringside tournament. It's always fun to watch those huge, athletic guys fighting day after day down there.

Veshawn and Caraway have already fought once and Veshawn won on points. We'll have to wait until the Golden Gloves to see Sommars and Watson. That should be good But im Leaning towards Watson because hes been fighting in National tournaments and all, and where has Sommers been? Ill be shocked if he even shows up for the gloves. But I also think Hayden should be on the list. Id switch him out for Rubin, Heroff, Hamm, or Sommars. My top 5 in MN would be.. 1. Robert Brant 2. Xavier Hayden 3. Manny Contreras 4. Ryan Watson 5. Delorien Caraway / Veshawn Owens Comment on what you think

I hadn't seen Sommers this year until Region 4, but he looked really sharp last weekend. I think he would take a fight against Watson. I would more want to see Sommers against Manny. I would definitely have Rubin in the top 5 though since he's been to nationals the last three years.....he's beat Heroff, Garcia, Francisco, Dustin Mason, Jay Lee, etc.
