For all those who missed it, there was a GREAT amatuer boxing show put on at the Holiday Inn in Detroit Lakes on Saturday. There was a great turn out, (many people didn't get in because it sold out) and an awesome card. Here are the results from the quadruple main event. Christian Andvik (Lakes Area Boxing) 154 lbs Eugene Sommers (White Earth Nation) High action fight here! Andvik wore Sommers down and picked him apart over the second half of the fight Sergio Garcia (Fergus Falls) 125 lbs Brad Heroff (Brunettes Boxing) Brad has been out of action for some time now and Garcia took advantage as he was more active and landed more punches. Close fight. Corey Thompson (Brunettes Boxing) light heavy Glen Sommers (White Earth Nation) Thompson rocked Sommers in the 1st round with a hard right hand that resulted in an 8 count and from there cruised his way to victory. Mike Lucero (Lakes Area Boxing) 154 lbs Rondale Hubert (Anoka) This had to be the fight of the night as Hubert appeared to be the more skilled boxer but Lucero imposed his will fighting off the crowd and heart. Very close fight. Many thought Hubert should have won the decision.

Rondale you are throwing the harder shots but, you are not setting your combinations up right.
You like to throw the hooks too much which people that have seen you fight now know to be holding there gloves by their heads more instead of guarding against the straight shot.
Exe... You set them up by doing the hooks like you are doing now and then finish with a straight right. So to draw their guard up front and if they pull it up front finish with a left hook. If they don't throw another straight right.
Also feint once in awhile. This way you get in the guys head and then you can move his guard without throwing a shot.
And one more thing every shot doesn't have to be with full power but, remember to keep the speed. By mixing up your power you can keep the opponent guessing if he really has to guard against your shot or not. Because everyone that you fight lately knows if they keep their defense tight they can weather the storm and eventually catch up once you start losing steam.
