i think they can but its going to take some give and take from both gyms. tubant has done a great job keeping boxing in wadena for a very long time. and im not sure if he is ready to give up being one of the power houses in northern minnesota boxing. but we will see how it turns out. S.T.O.M.P offers year round training were Bob does not.

I don't think boxing should go year round as boxers and especially kids need a little time off to refresh themselves more mentally than anything else. I think it's great that there are 2 gyms in a town as tiny as Wadena and I don't know what STOMP boxing is about but I do want to say that I've NEVER seen Cody look as bad as he did at regions.

ive trained in every gym in the area from fargo, dl, wadena , fergus falls, white earth ect and i can say that s.t.o.m.p. is the best gym around! after the fergus falls gym fell apart this year, joe and everyone at s.t.o.m.p. have been like a second family to me, taking time off in the summer from training dosent help anyone, you end up getting rusty and having to work for a month just to get half assed back into shape to start back at square one instead of progressing during the summer, thats why region 4 is almost always getting beat by guys from the cities. if kids need a break, just dont fight and take the training down a notch, dont quit totally! i think the two gyms can co exist because of the fact that s.t.o.m.p. is mostly a mma gym directed towards jiu jitsu fighters, they have one of the largest weight rooms and exercise machine rooms in the area and offer kickboxing, cardio/core, wrestling, jiu jitsu and boxing programs. if anything i see wadena golden gloves slowly disolving in the next 5 years into the s.t.o.m.p. gym

As the owner of stomp first let it be known that i have nothing against Bob. In fact i think he has done a fine job in wadena for years getting people started in boxing and that's one of the reasons I chose wadena to open my gym, the good boxing and the great wrestling. You need both skills to become A good mma fighter and you need to train full time. When I needed help with striking I tt Bob about about sending our guys over there for instruction. And he stated he was not interested in any way shape or form. So based on his response I started a full time boxing program, not just for my fighters but for anyone, and the response has been great. I think it will be fun to have matches against each other and to have some friendly banter to help promote both the town and sport. Remember we are here as a MMA gym that offers you the option of going in more then one direction. If you wish to do just boxing we are fine with that, but if you want more, we have that also. So yes I believe there is room for more then one boxing program in Wadena.

Are there even still 2 gyms in wadena? And if so, who is the one in charge or coach of the other gym? Just wondering because I have been to many local matches and have heard nothing about them or if its still going. I know there were a few boxers from the other one at the wadena fights last year but heard nothing about them now or did they shut down? I seen tubandts gym is doing really well this year and havent heard much from fergus falls but a few new gyms have seemed to open up lately.
