Nice work guys. I hate to say that I am not an expert with amateur boxing scoring but I remember usually seeing smaller numbers then 50-27. Sounds to me like an action packed fight!

Those scores that you see are from the clicker system. The judge sits at ringside with a blue clicker in one hand and a red clicker in the other. After the round is over the total for each is written down on the scorecard then reset for the next round. With the recent collapse of the USA boxing council (money mysteriously disappeared) it is rumored that amateur boxing will go back to the 10 point must system, with Golden Gloves watching over everything.

Dang Corey you ok??? Or are you just tryin' to get a rise outta people? Amateurs used to be a 20 point must sytem...Pro's use the 10 point. And they are using the computer scoring system at the Western Trials. I raised my eyebrows at that score a little...Tae would have been stopped by an RSCOS (outscored) when he got behind by 20 points...but I looked up the rule and it does not apply in the last round. (2) Outscored. RSC-OS is only used with the Computer Scoring System and stops a bout when a boxer is outscored as follows: (a) If one boxer has a 20-point advantage (for Open and Under 19/Junior men), or a 15-point advantage (for Women and Junior Olympics/Cadets) over their opponent, the bout must be stopped except in the last round, and the boxer with the advantage is declared the winner. So, thats all I've got to say about that cuz I didnt even READ the last part of your post...

My comment was not an insult to USA boxing here in Minnesota.
It was in regard to the people in Colorado Springs who took the money that was suppose to be for the boxers and coaches.
Golden Gloves has always been good to me, much respect and much love.
