I'm not plugged in like some of you, but a couple of things.
165# Pat Bresnahan from Fargo (region 3) is an unknown, but I've seen him work out and fight and he's a grown up man who can really hit.
201# JJ Moen from Grand Forks (region 3) I just saw him fight this spring for the first time, and he looked very good to these eyes.
Two guys to look out for.

It was another good tournament. Except for a couple, most of the fights were close and entertaining. If I counted right, four returning champions were "upset".
Zoo Vang was the first one to beat last years champ Keven Harper, at 114. Both fighters had their moments. Sergio Garcia was next up and used a standing 8 to defeat last years 123 champ Brad Heroff. Nate Rubin defended his 132 title with a good fight over Mitch White. An under experienced Renam Garcia defeated last years champ DeLorian Caraway at 141 in a real close fight. Hard to believe Renam had only 8 fights. Oscar Soto beat last years 152 champion VeShawn Owens in a slow fight. Both fighters tied each other up a lot. The 165 fight was real good with Corey Thompson beating Anthony Rose. Corey won the Best Boxer Award and it was well earned. With a little more experience Anthony will win a championship soon. Dalton Outlaw looked good beating Puol Both in the 178 fight. Two UMGG champions fought at HW with Manny Contreras beating Glenn Sommers in 2 rounds. Glen won the Sportsmanship Award JJ Moen won a close fight over Jose Perez in the SHW battle. Ryan Watson won the Fightingest Fighter Award after getting at least three standing 8's in his loss to Manny Contreras on Saturday night. The only negative thing I seen this weekend was the unsportsmanship shown by the coach for Brad Heroff when his fighter lost today. I just hope all the young people present can forget about this one bad incident and remember the good sportsmanship shown by the other fighters & coaches.

One thing that stood out to me this weekend was the power Corey Thompson had at 165. He's huge for that weight class. I think that this was one of the better Uppermidwest tourneys in the last few years. After a down time from lot of people turning pro this years class featured a lot of up and coming talent.

Tournament was awesome. Only 2 repeat champs from last year, and 5 losing.
tbone was right about Soto being too much for Owens. It was a pretty ugly fight with a lot of inside grabbing and holding, but Owens couldn't do much against Soto.
Corey Thompson is a beast at 65, tons of power.....really transfers power well with each punch. First time i've seen him. Sounds like he has been boxing for awhile? Announcer said something about winning Ringside World's like 5 years ago? Where has he been the last few years? Sounds like he is from Detroit Lakes originally or something??
